PlayStation Classic: All games announced (so far) and what games we want to see

The PlayStation Classic is a plug-and-play system, similar to Nintendo’s NES Classic and the SNES Classic, that comes pre-loaded with 20 games. It’s a tiny version of the PS1 you can hold in your hand and play with friends on any modern television — and that’s all great news. The unit will retail for $100, and we couldn’t be more excited to get our retro-loving hands all over this thing.

The big question is, what games are going to be included? The PS1 has a huge selection of amazing, classic games, but they aren’t all going to fit on this tiny system. As stated above, 20 are going on the roster — including Tekken 3, Final Fantasy 7, and Ridge Racer Type 4. That’s a lot of great games, but there are even more we desperately want to see on the PS1 Classic. Keep scrolling to find a complete, up-to-date list of all the PS1 Classic titles included. Below that, I’ll provide my personal wishlist for games I want to see.

The unit can have two controllers plugged-in so you and a friend can play together, and there’s a built-in memory card so there’s no need to plug one of those bad boys in. The device only comes with a USB power cable for charging, which you can plug into any USB-possessing TV, or just get a USB-to-AC adapter.

All games announced (so far)

The PS1 Classic will ship with 20 games pre-loaded into the system. All the games announced so far:

  • Final Fantasy 7
  • Tekken 3
  • Wild Arms
  • Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Jumping Flash
  • More coming soon!

What games we want to see

Now, let’s dig into a much trickier question — what games do we want on the PS1 Classic? All of these games won’t fit onto the 20-game list, but we’re going down memory lane and listing everything awesome that deserves a spot on the PS1 Classic. It’s a virtual guarantee most of these games will not appear on the console. If we’re really lucky, a few of the picks will appear.
  • Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Final Fantasy Tactics
  • Resident Evil 2
  • Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus
  • Crash Bandicoot
  • Mega Man Legends
  • Silent Hill
  • Twisted Metal 3
  • Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2
  • Final Fantasy 9
  • Spyro The Dragon 2: Ripto’s Revenge
  • Chrono Cross
  • Soul Reaver
That was just my personal list, but feel free to list any games I missed in the comments section below.
